Summary
The Ribble HT trail bike is praised for its super smooth ride, durable Reynolds 725 steel frame, and excellent traction from its Maxxis tires, making it a comfortable and capable choice for various trail types. However, it faces criticism for its high bottom bracket, twisty front end, and issues with component quality, which can affect confidence and handling. The bike's geometry and suspension are designed for stability and comfort, though some riders may find the fork performance underwhelming.
Super smooth ride
Durable Reynolds 725 steel frame
Excellent traction from Maxxis tires

Stable geometry and suspension
High bottom bracket reduces confidence
Twisty front end affects handling
Issues with component quality
Underwhelming fork performance
Price increases without spec changes
Ribble’s HT 725 Pro looks both pretty and promising on paper and it’s a super smooth, chunk-swallowing cruiser as you’d hope from a steel frame.
Steep, techy lines with sniper roots and mini rock gardens are where the 725 excels.
All it needs now is a lower BB and a higher-quality dropper post and Ribble could easily give some of the steel stalwarts a run for their money.
It's progressive, good looking and built for gravity-fed riding – it ticks most boxes for hardtail lovers.

Ribble’s steel hardtail looks fantastic and seems to tick all the boxes but how does it ride when things get tasty?
Super smooth ride
Lively spring for 725
Loads of color and trim options
Mostly solid aggro spec
Internal cable routing and ample tire space
Big ground clearance for pedaling
Short reach and tall bottom bracketreduce confidence
Twisty front end means vague tracking
27.5in front tire slides more than a 29in would
High price for primarily direct sell brand
‘Hidden’ SX cassette on ‘Pro’ build

The Ribble HT 725 has a mainframe that's UK-designed Reynolds heat-treated chromoly steel hardtail featuring slack and long geometry.
Great vibration damping
BB is too high

Feb 2020 · Tom Marvin
Aggro hardtail that’s ideal for slipping and sliding in the woods, but swap those tyres ASAP
Comfortable for a hardtail
Up-to-date frame shape
Quality fork
Hard-compound Schwalbe Nobby Nic tyres are poor performers
Slightly more powerful brakes would be a bonus

The Ribble HT Ti is a thing of beauty, but this titianium hardtail isn’t just about looks – it's got substance, thanks to progressive geometry that puts it firmly in the ‘enduro’ camp. A few spec choices seem at odds with the build and there's a steel version that makes this one look pricey, but if you're a sucker for titanium and hard, fast trails, you’ll want to take this bike for a ride.
