QuietKat Ranger Review, 2024 – Electric Bike Report

Feb 2024 · John S. Bozick

A powerful and practical all-terrain e-bike for hunting, commuting, or simply having fun. Whether you’re a primitive camping enthusiast, a hunter with a distant blind or treestand, or a thrill-seeker who loves a good romp in the dirt, the QuietKat Ranger may just meet your needs. We tested the bike’s on- and off-road performance in

Highs
  • All-terrain capability thanks to the 1,000W rear hub motor, Kenda fat tires, and Mozo suspension fork.

  • Great riding stability and steering control from the 740mm handlebars and tires.

  • Hauls up to 100lbs of game or gear on the welded rear cargo rack – or more with optional cargo/game trailers.

  • Converts quickly between Class 1, 2, and 3 modes through the settings menu. Also has an Unlimited mode for off-road use.

  • Easy operation with just three PAS settings and a 7-speed drivetrain that worked well in Class 2 mode. The three power levels also govern throttle “punch”.

  • Charges literally anywhere when combined with QuietKat’s optional solar charging station.

  • Outfitted with a variety of name-brand parts (Bafang motor, SRAM drivetrain, Tektro brakes, etc.)

  • Can be customized for function and comfort with a massive range of accessories.

  • Offered in three hunter-friendly camo paint schemes.

Lows
  • The bike showed three distinct power levels off-road, but didn’t seem to have much variation in power when riding on paved surfaces.

  • Not so much a con as a thing to be aware of, but sizing seems to be on the large size for their frames.
