Summary
The Pivot Phoenix is a high-performance downhill bike praised for its forward-looking geometry, lightweight design, and efficient dw-link suspension. It excels in dynamic trails and high-speed berms, offering excellent pedaling prowess and a playful nature. However, some reviewers noted challenges with suspension setup and excessive trail feedback at high speeds.
Forward looking geometry
Sub-31 pound weight
204mm of dw-link suspension
Pedals better than any other downhill bike
Excels in dynamic trails and high-speed berms
Suspension setup more difficult than anticipated
Excessive trail feedback at high speeds
Noticeable bumps at all speeds
The Phoenix is a World Cup missile, but it also works amazingly well at the bike park.
The Phoenix really excelled when the trail was dynamic, with the large downtube anchoring the bike through high-speed berms and encouraging controlled, quick maneuvers on machine-built trails.
Pivot's ability to capitalize on such elements help this bike excel when podium positions are separated by mere tenths of a second.
