Bike Perfect
Pinnacle Kapur 2 review – solid MTB performance at a bargain price

Feb 2023 · Guy Kesteven

With prices rising dramatically in the past few years can you still get a real mountain bike for £500? Pinnacle’s Kapur 2 certainly gives it a good go

Highs
  • Excellent value spec including Shimano gearing

  • Reliable, predictable Shimano hydraulic brakes

  • Well matched cockpit and handling

  • Suspension fork adds some comfort and control

  • Fast rolling and responsive tires

  • Full range of sizes

Lows
  • Short and upright geometry

  • Skinny tires mean a firm ride

  • Needs a bigger front brake rotor

  • Rebound damping can be clunky

Pinnacle Kapur 3 review

Oct 2019 · Tom Marvin

The Pinnacle would be a great first bike; it’s a hoot to ride and feels neither lazy nor nervous

Highs
  • Nippy, agile and fun, the Kapur is an engaging ride

  • A great bike on which to develop your skills, and feels good on a range of trails

  • Recon RL is one of the best budget forks with decent adjustability and control

Lows
  • 2x9 drivetrain is noisier and less secure than 1x equivalents

  • Not the best geometry for climbing

With progressive geometry and a top quality frame the Pinnacle Kapur 2 has a really nice feel to it – direct and efficient without any jarring.

Highs
  • Lightweight triple-butted frame with great handling

Lows
  • Needs bigger tyres with bigger knobs to bolster traction and increase the BB height slightly
