Summary
The Orbea Laufey is a versatile trail hardtail with a focus on stable descending and solid climbing performance, though it's noted for being more of a grounded, stable ride than a playful one. Its aluminum frame and thoughtful design features like the Lockr downtube storage are highlights, but some reviews criticize its value for money and certain build components.
Versatile geometry for confident descending and solid climbing
Thoughtfully designed aluminum frame with useful Lockr downtube storage
Excellent tire clearance and stability at high speeds
Not the most playful or lively hardtail
Some builds are criticized for poor value for money
Certain components like tires and hubs receive negative feedback
I think that’s the weirdest bike I’ve seen you riding… and you ride a lot of weird bikes.BIKEPACKING.com
The Orbea Laufey H-LTD proved to be a solid all-rounder hardtail, but failed to truly capture the essence of fun for me.
The Laufey is a great bike with an exceptional ride quality but at £2,700 it’s certainly pricey.

Versatile geometry that places a priority on confident, stable descending but still feels pretty good pedaling on long rides
Lower-end builds are relatively inexpensive
Thoughtfully designed aluminum frame dulls bigger impacts
Excellent tire clearance
Lockr downtube storage is a useful addition for bikepacking
Not the most lively or fast hardtail
Slow hub engagement
Heavy build and poor tire choice
No rack mounts might be a concern

The Laufey H-LTD is the range-topping trail hardtail from the Spanish brand, Orbea. It's a fantastic hardtail that I’ve come to adore thanks to its wisely selected and somewhat unique geometry that results in a thrilling and confidence-inspiring ride. However, its price makes it a tough sell against steel and other alloy-framed rivals.

It’s just as well the Orbea Laufey H-LTD handles so well because if we turn our attention to the build kit, it’s something of a harder sell.

The Orbea Laufey H-LTD proved to be a solid all-rounder hardtail, but has a slightly less playful demeanor than some. Check out our review.
