Summary
The Orbea Wild trail bike is praised for its outstanding climbing capabilities, lively suspension, and balanced handling, making it a strong performer on rough trails. However, some riders note its front end can feel short for taller riders, affecting confidence on steep descents. The bike's customization options and Bosch motor integration are frequently highlighted as standout features.
Outstanding climbing capabilities
Lively and supple suspension
Balanced handling
Customization options through Orbea’s ‘My-O’ program
Bosch motor integration
Front end can feel short for taller riders
Shimano brakes may become inconsistent
Aggressive pedaling position may limit long-distance comfort
Heavy wheels and tyres affect handling and battery life
The Wild FS is the best climber out of the three bikes on test.
The Orbea WILD proves that maximum trail performance doesn’t always require radical geometry.
This is undoubtedly one of the best climbing e-MTB’s I have ridden.

The Orbea Wild caught a lot of attention when it was updated for 2023, mainly because the top-of-the line model was a sub 21 kg bike. That’s very light for a full fat emtb. We’re not testing the most expensive carbon version though. We’re sort of...

The Orbea Wild has been completely redesigned for this year, and for the right rider this bike is nothing short of brilliant.
Clean frame design
Powerful Bosch motor & big 750Wh battery
Great geometry
Supportive & easy to tune suspension
Astonishingly fast & capable on techy terrain
No mullet compatibility
Headset cable routing is fiddly
On the pricey side for the spec

There's a punching bag-like quality to the way the Wild absorbs obstacles – it seems to relish high-speed smashing, and can withstand some serious hits without getting hung up or knocked off line.
Extremely calm and composed in the steeps & at speed
Powerful Bosch motor with wireless controller and simple display
Customizable built kits allow for a wide range of build options
Integrated battery decreases the potential for mega-long, multi-battery missions.
Thru-headset cable routing is well sealed, but it's still more of a hassle to work on
No mixed wheel options on smaller (or any) sizes

Plush suspension generates plenty of traction
Good-natured handling
High level of customizability thanks to the MyO configurator
Good performance both up- and downhill
Non-removable battery makes it difficult to charge indoors

Whether it’s their Grand Tour-level road race bikes or World Cup-winning mountain bikes, Orbea’s wide line of pedal bikes has remained some of the most beautifully designed bikes on the market.
