Summary
The Orbea Wild enduro bike is praised for its outstanding climbing and descending capabilities, with a lively and comfortable ride thanks to its active rear suspension and progressive linkage. However, some riders find the front end a bit short for aggressive riding, especially for taller riders, and note inconsistencies with Shimano brakes on rough terrain. The bike's geometry and suspension design make it a strong performer on technical trails, though it may not suit those looking for a more relaxed ride.
Outstanding climbing and descending capabilities
Active rear end creates a lively, comfortable and traction-rich ride
Integrated 625Wh battery with a handy integrated key for removal
Great looks and custom color scheme through Orbea’s ‘My-O’ program
Bosch’s new Performance CX motor and 625 Wh battery
XL bike’s front end is a little short, making it harder for tall riders to ride aggressively
Shimano brakes could become inconsistent after riding rough terrain
Handling more nervous on steep and technical terrain or at speed for tall testers
Aggressive pedalling position limit its long-distance suitability
Low bottom bracket means careful pedalling on rough trails
The Wild FS is the best climber out of the three bikes on test.
The Orbea WILD proves that maximum trail performance doesn’t always require radical geometry.
This is undoubtedly one of the best climbing e-MTB’s I have ridden.

Whether it’s their Grand Tour-level road race bikes or World Cup-winning mountain bikes, Orbea’s wide line of pedal bikes has remained some of the most beautifully designed bikes on the market.

Brilliant uphill with a lively, supple ride, but a short front-centre reduces downhill confidence
Motor, geometry and suspension combine to make a great climbing package
Active rear end creates a lively, comfortable and traction-rich ride
XL bike’s front end is a little short, making it harder for tall riders to ride aggressively and confidently
Although better than older versions, the Shimano brakes occasionally kept me guessing where they’d bite on rough trails

This is the eMTB we'd recommend to most people who ask our opinion. One of the best eMTBs on the market, the Orbea Wild FS is incredibly versatile and while it has very conservative geometry for some aggressive downhillers, that's what makes it so lively and fun for everyone else.
