Summary
The Orbea Occam is a versatile trail bike praised for its up-to-date geometry, impressive suspension performance, and customizability through the MyO program. It excels in climbing efficiency and offers a sporty, agile ride, though some reviews note it may feel out of depth on more technical descents. The bike's design features, such as internal cable routing and rubberised protection, add to its appeal, while some cons include tyre performance in certain conditions and suspension setup challenges.
Up to date geometry
Impressive suspension performance
Customizable through MyO program
Excellent climbing efficiency
Agile and sporty ride quality
Tyre performance in certain conditions
Suspension setup can be challenging
Feels out of depth on technical descents
The bike’s shape certainly seems to lend itself to letting go of the brakes and building up speed.
If you want a mini-enduro bike, look elsewhere. If you want to earn your turns though, the Orbea Occam is designed to cover some serious ground.
Orbea has designed a trail bike that is downright playful and fun, which is exactly how a mountain bike should feel in our opinion.
