Orange Stage Evo: first ride on their new 120mm travel 29er rocket - MBR

Jun 2020 · Alan Muldoon

Less is more: the new Orange Stage Evo 29er packs big bike geometry into a nimble 120mm package.

Highs
  • Traditional Orange ride quality in a thoroughly modern package.

  • Perfectly balanced handling encourages you to ride beyond the limits of the 120mm travel.

Lows
  • The Orange grips are too thin and the SDG saddle too firm. Water bottle mount is under the down tube.

Highs

  • The bike is consistently predictable no matter how wild you get.

  • A great range of top-tier components really help the bike shine.

  • Designed and manufactured in the UK.

Lows
  • It is quite expensive.

  • Some of the available upgrades probably aren't worth the cash, so choose wisely.
