Summary
The Niner Jet trail bike series offers a mix of modern geometry and thoughtful design, appealing to a broad range of riders with its quick steering and precision on specific terrains. While it excels in descending and has a planted feel, some models show a tendency to sink into their travel on climbs and have a slack seat angle. The bike's suspension performance is generally supportive, with a smooth stroke, though it may lack efficiency on flatter trails.

The new Niner JET 9 RDO takes natural steps forward in some elements of its design, but stands still in others.
All that Niner swagger
Smart cable management
Thoughtful touches like threaded BB, UDH hanger
Slack actual seat angle leads to inconsistent geo numbers
Not supportive under body input or pedaling load

As impressive on the climbs, as it is on the downhills, Niner's new JET makes a strong first impression.
CVA suspension design has a planted feel
Balanced reach to chainstay length as tested
FOX Suspension is supportive and ready for aggressive riding
Updated, descent-focused geometry still climbs incredibly well
Deore XT brake pad cooling fins rattle on caliper
Rear axle removable handle rattles
30-pound weight lessens snappy, XC bike characteristics
