Summary

The Mondraker Superfoxy is a lightweight and capable enduro bike with a fast, stable, and agile ride, praised for its sorted suspension and solid components. However, it faces criticism for its slack seat angle affecting climbing performance, high price relative to competitors, and some geometry and spec choices that may not suit all riders. Overall, it offers a mixed experience with strengths in descending and handling but weaknesses in value and uphill efficiency.

Pros
  • Fast, stable, and agile handling

  • Sorted suspension with smooth and supportive action

  • Lightweight and capable enduro package

  • Solid components and well-made frame

  • Adjustable geometry for customization

Cons
  • Slack seat angle hinders climbing performance

  • High price compared to competitors

  • Geometry and cockpit proportions may not suit tall riders

  • Some spec choices and component issues

  • Suspension setup can be challenging with bottoming out

Key Quotes
Fast and fun, but the seat angle lets it down on steeps and the cockpit proportions could be better

Mondraker's SuperFoxy Carbon R offers big wheel, big travel thrills in an impressively lightweight and capable enduro package that's no slouch when it comes to pedalling either.

The Superfoxy is long and slack, but unfortunately there's more to the modern geometry equation than those two numbers.

Mondraker SuperFoxy Carbon R 2020 review

Sep 2020

Mondraker's SuperFoxy Carbon R offers big wheel, big travel thrills in an impressively lightweight and capable enduro package that's no slouch when it comes to pedalling either. However, a relatively slack seat angle makes itself known on climbs and the kit is functional rather than flash for this sort of cash.

Review: 2020 Mondraker SuperFoxy RR

Jul 2020 · Dan Roberts

The Superfoxy made it to the top of all the climbs, but it's stretched out seated position and really short stem made it more conscious work to manage the bike and I was often having to really concentrate on keeping a good position or choosing a line that would upset the bike less..

Highs
  • Fantastic looks

  • Bike length encourages speed

Lows
  • High bottom bracket and relatively slack seat angle affect performance

  • High price compared to other similarly spec'd bikes

  • Odd spec choices and stem/headset problems

Fast and fun, but the seat angle lets it down on steeps and the cockpit proportions could be better

Highs
  • Fast yet agile and engaging ride

  • Sorted suspension (with a little fettling) and solid parts

Lows
  • Seat angle could be steeper, especially for tall riders

  • Geometry is no longer the most radical, which makes the price harder to justify
