Mondraker Crafty Carbon RR SL first ride review

Dec 2019 · Tom Marvin

I took the RR SL out for a ride around Lausa in Portugal (where the first round of the UCI DH World Cup will be raced in 2020), testing it for one and a half days on loose, rocky, rooty and wet enduro trails. Conditions were far from ideal for testing a bike, so these are initial ride impressions only. Mondraker replaced the stock Maxxis Rekon tyres with a pair of Maxxis Minion DHF/DHR2, with an EXO Plus casing, and its MaxxTerra 3C rubber – a welcome swap

Highs
  • Incredibly impressive rear suspension, backed up by great geometry and very light weight

Lows
  • Very expensive, with compromised battery access and tyres

Nov 2019 · Mick Kirkman

Mondraker Crafty Carbon is a weight-conscious enduro bike 29er with 160/150mm travel. The first Mondraker e-bike with their Stealth Air carbon construction.

Highs
  • Lightweight with dialled rear suspension. Progressive geometry and sizing for an e-bike. Looks the business.

Lows
  • It’s a ton of cash. Can’t remove the battery easily for charging.

Mondraker e-Crafty XR Plus review

Sep 2018

Mondraker's mid travel e-Crafty XR Plus is an absolute monster when it comes to smashing up and down the rough stuff thanks to super long geometry, a grunty Bosch motor and a whole lot of momentum, but the combination of sheer mass, huge chainstays and suspension that sometimes feeds back a little too much to the rider makes it a handful elsewhere.
