Summary
The Merida Ninety-Six is a world-class cross-country bike that combines speed, comfort, and efficiency, making it a top choice for racers and enthusiasts alike. Its sleek frame, excellent suspension performance, and no-expense-spared spec highlight its racing pedigree. However, some components like the RS-1 fork and stock tires may not suit everyone's preferences.
Eager for speed but also roomy and comfortable
genuine world-class XC chassis
impressive power transfer
excellent traction and fatigue reduction
clear on/off contrast between open and locked suspension modes
RS-1 fork continues to be a love/hate affair
only the wealthy need apply
more of a handful in tight turns
tracking accuracy is undermined by the twisty RS-1
With World Champs podium pedigree, the Ninety-Six is one flat-out fast XC ride
Cross country racer delight, a carbon 29er with great suspension and fast character.
Billed as a top-flight XC bike the Ninety-Six delivers a ride quality that shouldn't let you down come race day.
