Marin Gestalt XR review

Aug 2023

The Gestalt XR takes the formula that Marin concocted for the standard Gestalt and gives it a serious shake up. Donning a super aggressive geometry and equipped with a very solid built kit for the cash, it proves that gravel can learn a thing or two from mountain bike design. With that, this bike is a weapon over flat surfaces and pushes what we know as ‘gravel’ even further, however, it's not perfect as its climbing ability is hindered by its gearing choices. Cycling Tips
2020 Marin Gestalt X10 gravel bike review: The wheelie machine - CyclingTips

Apr 2020 · Caley Fretz

The Marin Gestalt X10 is a mountain biker’s gravel bike. It’s fun and flickable, aware that a bit of instability can be enjoyable, and designed for a rider whose range of terrain is almost wide enough to necessitate flat bars and suspension. That makes it something of a love-it or hate-it bike. It’s not traditional. […]

Highs
  • Loves to wheelie, fun when it gets in over its head on technical trail.

Lows
  • Brakes are terrible, 1x only could be an issue for some.
