Summary
The Marin Gestalt is a versatile gravel bike praised for its lightweight aluminum frame, carbon fork, and budget-friendly price. It excels in handling various terrains, from roads to light off-road trails, thanks to its SRAM 1x drivetrain and tubeless-ready tires. However, it may feel unforgiving on rough terrain and has some limitations in tire grip and brake performance.
Lightweight aluminum frame with carbon fork
Versatile for both road and light off-road use
Budget-friendly price
SRAM 1x drivetrain for simplified gear changes
Tubeless-ready tires for varied terrain
Unforgiving ride on rough terrain
Limited tire grip in muddy conditions
Cable-operated disc brakes lack initial bite
Noticeable weight at slow speeds
It’s not just okay at everything, it’s really good at a lot of tasks.Bicycling
The Marin Gestalt 2 is an absolute blast to ride off-road.
The Gestalt’s trump card is its versatility.
Viewed through the lens of a versatile do-anything machine rather than a hardcore gravel racer, the Gestalt 2 is a great bike at a good price

Whether you need something to act as drop bar commuter, gravel adventurer or just a hugely versatile road machine Marin’s Gestalt 2 is likely to win you over with confident handling, even if the frame and fork can be a little unforgiving for pure off-road use.

The Marin Gestalt 2 is a gravel bike with a ten speed single ring set-up which mimics SRAM's 11-speed single ring groupsets without the expense. How does it stack up?
Budget single ring drivetrain
Really low gears for steep off-road
Mudguard and rack mounts add flexibility
Quite heavy
Cables not fully weatherproof
Tyres lack grip in mud
