Does the World really need women’s specific mountain bikes? It’s a question we’ve all asked ourselves at least once and one that can be answered in a million different ways. Liv is a brand by women for women, which is why we were even more tempted by the Intrigue and to see how it performs on the trail.
Good-natured, intuitive handling
Very agile
Good all-rounder
Low insertion depth of the seat post
Weak brakes

The subject of women’s specific bikes is certainly a controversial one, particularly at the moment, with some brands touting ‘gender neutral’ designs and others pushing for women’s specific construction. But regardless of which side of the fence you sit, it’s hard to ignore the commitment of Liv to providing the full spectrum of bikes to …

A fun, agile bike that’s ripe for upgrading, but great to ride as is. Better tyres and a dropper would be nice though! Buy if, You want a quality mountain bike for the money that's fun to ride, performs competitively, will help progress your riding and is a joy to ride
The Maestro suspension system and RockShox suspension makes for a confidence inspiring ride. The Intrigue beats similarly priced competitors on component spec
Wooden tyres don’t give enough traction for wet and rooty British riding. No dropper seatpost or quick release means mid-ride faffing
