KTM Scarp Elite 22S XT - MBR

Aug 2017 · James Bracey

The KTM Scarp Elite is a bike that does what it does well. There's no allusions that it's trying to be anything other than a XC or marathon race bike.

Highs
  • Active suspension design makes it easy to live with as a daily driver

  • Reflex-like handling in singletrack

  • Rewards smoothness

Lows
  • Can get twisted up and break traction under heavy power loads

  • Inconsistent brake performance

  • 2x setup isn't needed

KTM Scarp 29 Elite 22S XT review

Mar 2017 · Guy Kesteven

Seriously rapid, fast handling race or marathon machine, but benefits from suspension tweaking. Buy if you want a race-orientated bike and don't mind tweaking the suspension

Highs
  • Light, cleanly designed marathon machine that’s naturally super-fast and efficiently smooth over intermediate terrain

Lows
  • Twitchy retro handling

  • Suspension needs tuning to give acceptable rough-terrain control
