If you look at the geometry on the Kona Hei Hei Trail it appears to have been designed to have more in common with modern XC bikes that its rivals.

I have to come clean right out of the gate. I was gifted this 2017 Hei Hei DL by Kona to be both a test steed for this rad rag and as a rider for their ambassador program. A conflict of interest, but I want you to know I am being as honest as I always am when writing my reviews. Kona Supergrassroots is a semi-pro team; 15 to 20 of us ride and race and send in media to be used as promotional whatnot.
