Knolly Tyaughton Titanium Hardtail Review

Nov 2022

Diving into Knolly's Titanium Hardtail after some time spent on the steel version...

Highs
  • Beautiful titanium finish and welds

  • Larger tubing diameters improve stiffness

  • Weighs 2 lbs (907g) less than steel version

  • Rides just like the steel version

  • Plenty of tire clearance (up to 27.5x2.8")

  • CNC-machined headbadge

  • Easy to work on (45 min frame swap)

  • Rear brake mount and brace are well-designed

Lows
  • Expensive ($7900 CAD for XT build)

  • Dropper post routing is finicky (internal with hatch)

  • Cable noise from internal dropper housing

  • Bare chainstay lacks protection (no rubber sleeve)

  • Stock cockpit (bars/stem) not ideal
