Intense Recluse Review: A Spider on Steroids

Aug 2016 · Jim Buchanan

Intense keeps the pace high and introduces another new 2017 model after their plus-sized ACV and their awesome short travel 29er some weeks ago. Here we have their latest offering in that of the medium-travel 27.5″ Recluse (pronounced “wreck-loose”) named after a poisonous Spider; this being a model a tad more aggressive than their Spider 275C. We have […]

Intense Spider 275C Factory review

Jul 2016 · Alex Evans

A light, playful and forgiving bike that rides like a dream – but you’ll need deep pockets to afford it

Highs
  • Light yet authoritative on the trail, glamour spec, beautifully judged JS Tuned suspension setup

Lows
  • Nothing so far – aside from the uncertainty as to how a lower-specced model would ride

MBR
Intense Spider 275C Factory first ride - MBR

Jun 2016 · Mountain Bike Rider

The Spider 275C scurries uphill over loose and technical terrain with efficiency and reliable traction

Highs
  • The Spider 275C accelerates quickly, while the aggressive geometry and Fox Factory suspension make for a playful descender, too

Lows
  • DT Swiss 1200 XRC wheels’ narrow internal rim width caused unwanted tyre roll during aggressive riding. The Schwalbe Nobby Nic tyres could do with more front-end traction under hard cornering
