The Ibis Ripmo AF, a playful long-travel trail bike with a strong build kit, has become a cult classic, though its lively ride divided reviewers between enjoyment and instability.

The Ripmo was updated this year with in-frame storage, mixed-wheel compatibility, and a wonderfully straight top tube.

Excellent climbing performance with efficient pedalling and traction.
Lively and engaging handling.
Intuitive and confidence-inspiring on technical terrain.
User-friendly frame design (threaded BB, internal cable guides, UDH).
Well-designed downtube storage.
Good suspension sensitivity and support.
Nice frame compliance without feeling flexy.
Fox 36 Grip X fork struggled on fast, chunky descents compared to Grip 2.
Icetech rotors had wobble and are impossible to straighten; finned pads rattled.
Not as planted as some competitors on fast, rough descents.
No high-speed rebound adjustment on fork.
Only SRAM Transmission drivetrain option for mechanical shifting fans.
High price point (reviewer considers expensive).
