A mid-drive motor helps the D5 Ultra respond like a normal bike, but amplifies your pedal effort.

The quality 10-speed Shimano Deore drivetrain offers functional gearing for a heavy bike.

We recommend that Himiway upgrade the brake system. Tektro’s E350 model works well on most bikes, but a stronger 4-piston system would be more suited to handle the D5 Ultra’s weight.

Another tradeoff of weight: this bike is likely to be tough to lift and transport.

Not an outright con, but this mid-drive behaved differently than most. If you’re used to that type of motor, this will likely take some getting used to.
