Reviews

Summary

The Giant Reign is a robust enduro bike designed for challenging terrain, offering plush suspension and stable handling at high speeds. However, its long chainstays and weight can hinder maneuverability in tight spaces. The bike's motor and battery systems are praised for their power and efficiency, though some setups may require fine-tuning for optimal performance.

Pros
  • Plush suspension performance

  • Stable and confident at high speeds

  • Powerful and efficient motor system

  • High-quality components and durable build

  • Smart Assist mode for efficient battery use

Cons
  • Long chainstays affect maneuverability

  • Heavy weight impacts handling at slow speeds

  • Requires careful suspension setup

  • Motor may judder when stationary

  • Limited battery range on some models

Key Quotes
A solid spec and intelligent motor but the Reign E+’s long back-end means it’s not as manoeuvrable, agile or confident as some of its competitors when things get technical.

The 2021 GIANT Reign Advanced Pro 0 review – Let's get rowdy!

Jan 2021 · Christoph Bayer

There are bikes that make it easy to ride fast. They offer a lot of grip, the rider is positioned centrally on the bike and they're easy to handle. The GIANT Reign is NOT that kind of bike. Still, it's a lot of fun!

Highs
  • Good poppy suspension

  • A lot of fun with an active riding style

  • Its length adds stability in steep terrain

Lows
  • Suspension reaches its limit on rough tracks

  • Requires an active riding style

  • Sizing excludes a lot of riders

Giant Reign E+ 0 Pro in Review

Dec 2019 · Felix Stix, Robin Schmitt, Jonas Müssig

Carbon, light-weight, large battery: all these are foreign terms to the Giant Reign E+ 0 Pro. Can its robust features and componentry convince nonetheless?

Highs
  • One of the highest weight ratings in the group test

  • Smart Automatic support mode

  • Excellent suspension offering a lot of traction

Lows
  • Energy-robbing on the descents

  • Too little dropper travel/long seat tube

  • Counterintuitive remote sequence
