Summary
The Giant TCX is celebrated for its cyclocross performance, offering a blend of comfort, speed, and precision. Its advanced composite carbon frame provides outstanding stiffness and compliance, making it suitable for competitive racing and longer rides. However, some models are noted for their heavy wheelset and lower spec groupset compared to rivals.
Outstanding stiffness and compliance from advanced grade composite carbon frame
Comfortable for longer rides with larger rear frame triangle
Excellent control and comfort from flared drops handlebars
Versatile and suitable for less experienced off-road riders
Great poise and weight distribution
Heavy wheelset reduces performance pedigree
Lower spec groupset compared to rivals in its price bracket
No concession to luggage mounting or mudguards
Maxxis tyres are a little too grippy in the dry
Limited seatpost compatibility
Giant says the SX was ‘born from the fast and furious world of competitive cyclocross and recalibrated for longer rides’.
This TCX is comfortable, fast, precise and direct, with excellent race-ready performance
An irrefutably decent all-rounder, the Giant TCX Advanced SX brings great geometry and a functional, well-built spec to the gravel tracks, tarmac and trails.

Giant’s tamer, gravel version of their well-known cyclocross bike goes by the name of the Giant TCX Advanced SX with a reworked spec and wholly decent price tag. We’ve had this bike on test to see how much fire they’ve added to the concept.

A solid carbon-framed off-road performer but if you want speed we'd suggest a change of wheels

Giant's TCX Advanced Pro 1 has nimble handling, rock-solid stiffness, and a price that is fair for a top-of-the-line race rig.
