Summary
The Focus Atlas is a versatile and comfortable gravel bike designed for adventure, offering stable handling and a smooth ride across varied terrain. It's praised for its generous tire clearance, multiple mounting options, and good value, though it's noted for being relatively heavy and having some limitations in wheel upgrade options due to Road Boost spacing.
Versatile and comfortable gravel bike
Generous tire clearance and multiple mounting options
Stable handling and smooth ride
Good value for money
Confidence-inspiring off-road performance
Relatively heavy
Road Boost spacing limits wheel upgrade options
Top tube bag rattles and is too small
Some components may not suit all riders' preferences
Focus has designed the Atlas to be a bike 'to get lost' on – a bike where versatility is more important than efficiency.
The result is a distinctly comfortable and enjoyably easy cruiser, with reassuring rather than radical handling and a standout smooth ride at a really good price.
I would argue this is now one of the best value gravel bikes on the market if you’re looking for a bike that genuinely can do it all.

Focus has added a carbon frame to the Atlas range, but this isn't a case of copypasta in a new frame material.

The FOCUS ATLAS 6.8 is one of only two aluminium bikes on test and is the most affordable of them all. This is reflected in the entry-level spec. However, FOCUS didn’t cut back on everything, as the bike offers a wealth of mounting points and good integration. Is that enough to make it the best all-rounder? We let it go head to head with 18 of the best gravel bikes of the year to find out.
Built like a tank

What Focus' first gravel bike lacks in flair, it makes up for with quiet competence and capability.
Capable on a wide range of terrain, lots of storage capability, confidence-inspiring handling.
The included top tube bag is too small, questionable headset bearing durability, Road Boost compatibility headaches.

Smooth ride
Multiple load fixtures
Good value
Neat cabling
Big tyre clearance
Suspension fork and dropper post compatible
