Summary
The Focus Atlas is a versatile and comfortable gravel bike designed for adventure, offering stability and confidence on a wide range of terrains. It features generous tire clearance, numerous mounts for bikepacking, and a smooth ride quality, though it may lack in agility and comfort on rougher terrain. The bike is praised for its value and capability, making it a strong contender for riders looking for a do-it-all gravel bike.
Versatile and comfortable gravel bike
Generous tire clearance and numerous mounts for bikepacking
Stable and confidence-inspiring handling
Good value for money
Smooth ride quality
Limited comfort in rough terrain
Lacking manoeuvrability and agility
Road Boost wheels limit upgrade potential
Relatively heavy
Top tube bag may rattle
Focus has designed the Atlas to be a bike 'to get lost' on – a bike where versatility is more important than efficiency.
The result is a distinctly comfortable and enjoyably easy cruiser, with reassuring rather than radical handling and a standout smooth ride at a really good price.
I would argue this is now one of the best value gravel bikes on the market if you’re looking for a bike that genuinely can do it all.

What Focus' first gravel bike lacks in flair, it makes up for with quiet competence and capability.
Capable on a wide range of terrain, lots of storage capability, confidence-inspiring handling.
The included top tube bag is too small, questionable headset bearing durability, Road Boost compatibility headaches.

All-new Focus Atlas gravel bike is "made to lose" or in a sense to get lost... whether on your commute to work or a bikepacking adventure...

A very versatile and capable gravel bike that could be turned to nearly any task, which has also resisted post-Brexit price increases
Versatile frameset bristles with mounts
Generous tyre clearance
Neat internal cable routing solution
Super fun to ride and very capable off-road
Boost spacing limits upgrade options for gravel-specific wheelsets
Top tube bag rattles like mad

While slightly late to the gravel party, the Focus Atlas is a tough, versatile, adaptable and enjoyable way to leave your troubles far behind
Smooth ride
Multiple load fixtures
Good value
Neat cabling
Big tyre clearance
Suspension fork and dropper post compatible
Top tube bag as standard
Boost axles
Relatively heavy
Not as radical as suggested

FOCUS present their first-ever gravel bike in the form of the ATLAS, admittedly jumping onto the gravel train after it's already gathered some steam. How does this gravel bike perform out in the real world? Do the current top dogs in the sub € 2,000 bracket have to be afraid or can the ROSE BACKROAD, Canyon Grail and Felt Breed stay calm?
