Reviewed: Felt Breed Advanced GRX 820 Gravel Bike - Cyclocross Magazine - Cyclocross and Gravel News, Races, Bikes, Media

Sep 2024 · Clifford Lee

We put the Felt Breed Advanced GRX 820 to the test. The bike of choice for the Felt United gravel team has 50mm tire clearance and plenty of mud clearance for #shorttrackgravel. See if it's the bike for you.

Highs
  • High tire clearance (50mm 700C, 2.0" 650B)

  • Stable geometry suitable for gravel racing

  • TaperLock vibration damping seatpost provides compliance

  • Shimano GRX 820 drivetrain performs flawlessly

  • Versatile for both gravel and cyclocross

  • Multiple mounting points for bottles and top tube bag

  • Compatible with dropper post and SRAM UDH

Lows
  • Bottom bracket developed creaking after a few months

  • Down tube is thick and awkward to grip for portaging

  • 140mm rear rotor is small for some conditions

  • 44cm handlebars may be wide for some riders

  • Vittoria Terrano Dry tires wear quickly and lose off-road grip

  • No rack or fender mounts

  • SRAM UDH hanger inboard may not work with some alignment tools

Highs
  • Many mounting options

  • Premium tire

  • Predictable handling
