Summary
The Felt Breed gravel bike series is praised for its versatility and thoughtful design, offering a stable and comfortable ride across various terrains. It features impressive tyre clearance and a plethora of mounting points, making it a great choice for bikepacking and everyday gravel riding. However, some models are noted for being heavy and having components that may not suit all conditions, particularly in wet or muddy environments.
Versatile and thoughtful design
Stable and comfortable ride quality
Impressive tyre clearance
Plethora of mounting points
Well-thought-out geometry
Heavy
Components may not suit all conditions
Some models have sluggish acceleration
Tyres not ideal for wet conditions
Stiff aluminium frame affects off-road handling
The Felt Breed 20 is as well-executed as aluminium gravel bikes come.
The Breed’s a truly superb bike – it’s great value, has wonderful on- and off-road manners and it has real spark when it comes to both acceleration and handling.
With the Breed 20, Felt want to bring classic road bike handling to the gravel world.
I think not having a front derailleur today was, like, the ticket because shifting the front end of a bike sucks in weather like that.

With the Felt Breed 20, another affordable gravel bike is trying to join the big players. It has an aluminium frame and mechanical SRAM gears. In addition, many mounting points are supposed to provide utility for everyday gravel riding. This group test reveals whether that’s enough to outdo the 18 best gravel bikes of the year.

Premium tire
Predictable handling
