Summary
The Felt Edict is a cross-country bike that excels in racing and climbing, offering a lightweight, stiff frame with efficient suspension. It's praised for its speed and handling, though some reviews note limitations in descending and comfort on rough trails. The bike's design and technology, like Textreme carbon and FAST suspension, are frequently highlighted for their performance benefits.
Lightweight and stiff frame for efficient climbing
FAST suspension technology for active and efficient ride
Excellent handling and speed in cross-country racing
Innovative rear suspension design
Good-looking package with tidy cable routing
Descending performance not as strong as climbing
Limited comfort on rough or long trails
Some models have issues with suspension suppleness and component quality
Without a doubt, the Edict was the fastest, most-efficient, mountain-flattening bike in our test.
Felt’s super fast handling might not be fashionable, but it’s brilliant for weaving through tight, technical singletrack or nailing turns and traction on steep climbs
The Edict is a lovely bike to look at, glistening and shining in the sunlight like a swimwear model in a sun shower, we do like its appearance.
If we’d been conducting a cross-country race-bike test, the Felt Edict 1 would’ve been the hands-down winner.
FAST offers 100 millimeters (4”) of smooth, predictable travel and delivers unequaled suspension performance in a lightweight, race-ready package.

Choosing a bike isn’t as easy as one, two or three. It’s tricky, with a market loaded with brands and options. And then there is the wheel size thing, a painstakingly irritating mess of conflicting opinions and bold marketing hype. What wheel size is best? There is no best. But when it comes down to …
Excellent choice for marathon racing
Efficient pedaller
Brilliant climber
Loose rear suspension pivot points
Un-supportive front suspension
