Summary
The Felt Virtue trail bike is praised for its efficient Equilink suspension and excellent lateral rigidity, making it a strong performer in climbing and acceleration. However, it faces criticism for its front end control and slippery tires in wet conditions. The bike's versatility is highlighted, with some models offering adjustable rear travel, though the difference in suspension feel is noted as negligible.
Efficient Equilink suspension with minimal pedal-induced bobbing
Excellent lateral rigidity in the rear end
Quick elevation gain
Quality Felt cockpit components
Option to adjust rear travel from 120 to 130 millimeters
Front end lacks a through axle, affecting control
Felt-brand tires described as scary-slippery in wet conditions
Overweight, impacting every aspect of the ride
Geometry is steeper than ideal for the travel
Notchy feel in the long-travel RockShox Tora fork
The Virtue Expert is a worthy ride for trail riders who like their bikes on the brisk and speedy side.
The whole bike is overweight and this impacts on every aspect of the ride.
This is a cross-country chassis folks and it makes no apologies for living up to its heritage.

Felt Bicycles, as a company, has a decidedly XC racer-ish flavor to it. There are more hardtails in the 2012 line up than full suspension bikes, which is sort of a rarity these days in the bike business. And when it comes to the long-travel end of the spectrum, Felt offers their five-model Virtue series.
