Summary
The Evil Calling is celebrated for its snappy, short-travel design that excels in playful, aggressive riding, offering a unique blend of low geometry settings and supple suspension performance. It's praised for its capability across various trails, with a particular highlight on its cornering and jumping prowess. However, it's noted that the bike's fun factor comes at a premium, and the extra low geometry setting may not suit everyone due to reduced pedal clearance.
Snappy, short-travel design
Unique low and extra low geometry settings
Excellent cornering and jumping capabilities
Supple suspension performance
Capable across various trail types
Premium price point
Reduced pedal clearance in X-Low setting
Extra low geometry may not suit all riders
All I wanted to do was jump, jib and generally just mess around at every opportunity. It was a childlike experience that put a grin on my face from ear to ear.
The Calling doesn’t shy away from terrain that you might think only a longer-travel bike could handle
The Evil The Calling is the perfect downhiller’s trail bike.

Evil's Calling breaks down barriers with long, low and slack geometry and a snappy rear-end. It is all about having fun.

The Evil The Calling is the perfect downhiller’s trail bike. With maximum grip, cornering shred-factor and attitude. Easy to ride for intermediates too.
Number 1 for cornering and jumping.
This much fun doesn’t come cheap.

We have to admit, when Evil Bikes first showed off the Calling, we thought it was a bit underwhelming and out of left field. With a knack for pioneering aggressive bikes, why would the Seattle brand dive into a more conservative field? Why not engineer a groundbreaking DH bike or a gnarly mid travel 29″ bike? You know…something that would fill the void between the Following and the Wreckoning. Why a 131mm travel, 27.5″ wheeled bike? Greatly impressed by Evil’s past efforts, we were still curious about the Calling as it seemed like it could address some minor gripes with

In the market for a short travel trail bike but discouraged by the lack of rowdy options? This new bike from Evil just might be the answer. - Mtbr.com
