Summary
The Devinci Troy is a highly capable trail bike that excels in aggressive terrain, offering a balanced geometry and superb suspension performance. It's praised for its versatility, handling, and climbing efficiency, making it a favorite for both descents and technical climbs. The bike's design features, like the Split-Pivot suspension and size-specific chainstays, contribute to its standout performance.
Balanced geometry
Superb suspension performance
Versatile for aggressive terrain
Excellent climbing efficiency
Size-specific chainstays
On the heavier side for a trail bike
Lacks pep on flatter terrain
Seat-tube angle could be steeper
This is a 140mm travel bike that is totally capable of hanging with the bigger bikes all the way up to the edge of the double-crown fork and neckbrace crowd.
The Troy impressed me with its initial sensitivity and eagerness to absorb bigger bumps, while not giving up the support you’d want from a trail bike.
It’s a true downhiller’s trail bike.

The same winning formula, but lighter. ‘Tis the season for slightly updated bikes! This week’s edition is the new Devinci Troy, now available with a full carbon frame. We reviewed the alloy version of this Troy last year when it launched, and Spencer found it to be a fun, versatile ride. The new carbon-framed version is very similar: it shaves about two pounds of total weight, but maintains the same easy-to-love ride quality of the aluminum bike. Canadian-made and mindfully modern mountain bikes.

The Devinci Troy has a reputation for its uncompromising, go-big-or-go-home kind of ride. This redesign adds an element of approachability.
Incredibly balanced geometry
Awesome suspension
Long-dropper friendly
Tires that mean business
Tires that could double as boat anchors
Ever so slightly “meh” dropper post lever ergos

Stable, calm and composed on the descents
Comfortable and relatively efficient on the climbs
Great spec that requires no immediate upgrades
A true one bike quiver
Seat-tube angle could be steeper if I'm being picky
Suspension rocker might hit some riders' knees
