Summary

The Devinci Troy is a versatile and potent trail bike praised for its modern geometry and capable suspension. While it climbs efficiently, some note minor bob when pedaling out of the saddle.

Pros
  • Short chainstays for agile and playful handling

  • Stable and composed geometry for high-speed descending

  • Efficient Split Pivot suspension with good pedaling performance

  • Durable frame with a lifetime warranty

  • Versatile flip-chip system for geometry tuning

Cons
  • Slightly heavy for a carbon trail bike

  • Rear shock can exhibit bob when pedaling aggressively

  • Seat tube angle may feel conservative for some riders

  • Super Boost spacing limits wheel compatibility

Rough terrain is the Troy's forte – the rear end tracks very well, and seamlessly took the edge off abrupt square-edged hits.

Review: Devinci Troy Carbon 29

Oct 2018 · Mike Kazimer

With 29" wheels and 140mm of rear travel the new Troy has plenty of competition - how does it stack up?

Highs
  • Stout do-it-all machine

  • Excellent rear suspension feel

  • Quick in the corners

Lows
  • Seat tube angle could be steeper

  • Super Boost spacing means your current spare rear wheel might not be compatible.

  • On the heavier side for a full carbon frame
