Summary
The CUBE Stereo Hybrid 160 is a high-performance enduro e-MTB that excels in rough terrain with its premium Bosch drive system and Fox suspension. It offers a comfortable riding position and significant battery capacity, though some reviews note issues with rear suspension performance and motor noise. The bike is praised for its value and integration of the Bosch system but has mixed feedback on its trail performance and geometry.
Premium Bosch drive system and components
High-capacity PowerTube 625 battery
Comfortable pedalling position for long tours
High-quality Fox suspension
Solid trail-taming capability
Poor rear suspension performance
Motor noise
Cumbersome battery removal process
Limited dealer base in North America
Geometry could be more aggressive
The PowerTube 625 is one pound heavier than the PowerTube 500 (~14% heavier) but offers 25% higher battery capacity!
CUBE integrate the Bosch Performance Line CX motor better than any other manufacturer in the test.
Featuring an entirely new chassis for 2020 that’s built around the 4th generation Bosch Performance CX engine, the new Stereo Hybrid 160 has taken a dramatic leap forward in terms of geometry, system integration and aesthetics over previous Cube offerings.
Whichever way you slice it, that’s a tempting deal.
If you're in the market for a full-size, long travel e-MTB, there's a lot to like about the Cube.

An enduro electric bike with long travel 170mm front 160mm rear air suspension by Fox. Available in four frame sizes and four parts levels, the TM is CUBE's mid-tier offering. Internal PowerTube 625 battery pack is hidden from view, the weight is kept low and center, the charging port and locking mechanism are well placed.
Nimble 2.5" front and 2.4" wide tires offer reduced weight and precise application-specific tread patterns. Premium wheelset, sturdy thru-axles, and Boost hub spacing provide stiffness and strength. Ebike specific SRAM NX 12-speed drivetrain delivers 500% gear ratio for optimal climbs and descents. SRAM NX narrow-wide steel chainring and ethirteen plastic guide prevent drops.
Ebike specific quad piston hydraulic disc brakes from Magura are designed to cool fast and function well at high speeds. Unique 203mm floating rotors separate the alloy carrier from the steel rotor, allowing for expansion due to heat. Magura Carbotecture master body reduces weight, piston orientation provides consistent actuation with tool-free adjustable reach levers.
Light and compact 4th gen Bosch CX motor delivers an "all in one" eMTB drive mode designed to keep you focused on riding and shifting gears vs. adjusting power settings. The motor controller provides shift detection to reduce chain and sprocket wear. Bosch Kiox display panel provides Micro USB charging, ANT+ wireless for heart rate monitors, and connectivity for the Bosch eBike Connect smartphone app. Drawbacks include high price, non-locking battery cover, charge port positioning, external rear wheel speed sensor.

The prize for the longest model name in our big group test goes to the CUBE Stereo Hybrid 160 C:62 SLT 625 27.5 Kiox! As the only eMTB with 27.5” wheels front and rear, it's clearly the outsider in our test field, so is there a good reason for its smaller wheels?
Exemplary integration of the Bosch system
Comfortable pedalling position for long tours
Great paint finish
Trail performance up- and downhill
Poor rear suspension performance

Dressed in top-of-the-range Fox Factory suspension with Kashima coating there’s no quibbling with the spec of the Cube Stereo Hybrid 160 HPC.
Amazing value for money.
Doesn’t quite have the ride quality to match.

Cube's snappily named Stereo Hybrid 160 HPC Actionteam 625 27.5 is a full-fat e-MTB that offers up a large battery capacity and latest generation Bosch drive unit mated to a sleek carbon frame with solid trail-taming capability and some great kit for the money. The only real issues were an unexplained rattle from the motor unit and the substantial weight.
