[Tested] Cube Stereo 150 C:68 TM 29

Jul 2018 · Andrea Chiesa

With the Stereo 150, Cube enters the long travel Enduro 29 segment. Just a few years back, “racers” were skeptical, thinking that these bikes were way too slow in changing direction and clumsy compared to their 27.5″ wheel shod counterparts. New geometries completely changed the game, reducing the negative effects. Shorter rear triangles with lower bottom brackets and longer reach values, and also more relaxed head tube angles, made the 29ers behave almost like their smaller sisters. In this way, the lower rolling resistance and the ease of overcoming obstacles emerged as clear pluses. Some brands like Transition and Mondraker, went even further with

All-Mountain Bargain: Cube Stereo 140 HPC Race

Jul 2018

The new Cube Stereo 140 is one of the best value mountain bikes we’ve seen this season. For $4K there’s a lot to like about it on paper, and after a few weeks riding we’ve really found it equally as impressive.

Highs
  • Amazing value.

  • Dialled suspension.

  • Robust construction.

  • Lively and fun.

Lows
  • Needs tubeless and a cable trim.

  • Front end wanders on steep climbs.

Cube Stereo 160 C:62 SL review

Jun 2017 · Seb Stott

Rapid on the climbs, but old-school handling is at odds with the long-travel intentions. Buy if you're after a long travel bike that still climbs well, and hanker for the masochistic challenge an old-school handling package

Highs
  • Lightweight build, carbon frame and steep seat angle makes for a rewarding, spritely feel on the climbs. Sensitive suspension works well once a large volume spacer is added to the shock

Lows
  • Short reach, tall frame and long stem make for wayward handling on steep terrain and tight corners too
