The new Cube Stereo 140 is one of the best value mountain bikes we’ve seen this season. For $4K there’s a lot to like about it on paper, and after a few weeks riding we’ve really found it equally as impressive.
Amazing value.
Dialled suspension.
Robust construction.
Lively and fun.
Needs tubeless and a cable trim.
Front end wanders on steep climbs.

We detailed Cube's move to 29" wheels on the new Stereo 150 29, built for their Enduro World Series team. Previewing the affordable carbon bike in Finale Ligure, we rode away impressed with the 29er's agile & responsive ride on the technical terrain, chasing downhill after Cube's pro riders.

The Cube Stereo has developed into a real classic, available not just with different wheel sizes, but also in 120mm or 140mm travel versions with 29″ wheels. This review is part of a Group Test. Cube’s new 120mm travel Stereo covers ground like an XC bike, while its fun character and relaxed attitude still shine through. We ask, is this the best Stereo to date?
The low weight and zippy, taut overall attitude
The tangle of cables look like a dead spider on the cluttered handlebar

Our biggest gripe with last year’s bike still hasn’t been addressed; the Stereo lacks ISCG mounts on its press-fit bottom bracket shell, which severely limits your choice of chainguide if you decide to ditch your front derailleur.. .
