Tested: Commencal Meta AM 29

Aug 2021 · Ryan Palmer

Let's go ahead and call it a well-rounded bruiser

Highs
  • Simple, clean design

  • Efficient climber

  • Exceptionally confident descender

  • Good value

Lows
  • Not as hovery through high-speed chunk as a modern high-pivot

  • No carbon option

  • Rear brake line exits chainstay close to rear rotor, increasing chance of melting the hose on the rotor (which happened on this bike)

COMMENCAL META AM 29 ÖHLINS ED review – Not be underestimated

Jan 2021 · Christoph Bayer

Highs
  • Direct and fun handling

  • Provides a lot of feedback from the ground

  • Relaxed climbing position

Lows
  • The handling of the large frame sizes is unbalanced

  • Downsizing comes at the cost of composure

  • Heavy
