Strong all-rounder
Excellent rear suspension performance
Stylish steel frame with attention to detail
Predictable and stable climbing
Lively and maneuverable descending
Heavier-than-average weight
Short-travel dropper post restricts freedom
Significant pedal bob uphill
Heel-clearance issues with certain pedals
The Chromag Lowdown is a discreet, reliable trail companion.
Chromag’s Lowdown was a pleasure to ride in BC. It’s more than capable of being ridden down the burliest trails in North America, and respectably manages the climbs required to do so.
Punching above its travel numbers, and delivering a comfortable ride while doing so, Chromag's big beefy metal bike really did impress.Pinkbike

From a company historically known more for sturdy and slack steel hardtails, this steel/alloy full-suspension option is one worth eyeing for the chromoly connoisseur.

The Lowdown is built for serious terrain and hard riding, with a steel front triangle and aluminum swingarm.
Comfortable and fast on rough tracks
Very capable climber, especially in technical terrain
Active suspension tracks the trail very well
Low stack height combined with long reach led to awkward feeling in slow steep tech
Might feel too flexible and relaxed for some
Heavy, despite strong climbing attributes
