Summary
The Cervélo Caledonia 5 is a versatile endurance bike that excels on varied terrain, offering a stable and comfortable ride with aerodynamic efficiency. It handles everything from smooth roads to rough surfaces, making it a true do-it-all machine. While it prioritizes stability over agility, it remains fast and responsive for hard efforts.
Stable handling
Comfortable ride over all terrain
Versatile for various riding conditions
Aerodynamic proficiency
Massive tyre clearance
Slightly overweight
Limited long-distance comfort
Slightly tardier handling compared to competitors
Expensive compared to competitors
It's a bike that can handle a dose of everything.
If you boiled it down to its base principles, the Cervélo Caledonia-5 is an endurance bike. It has more upright geometry, it's more stable and it has wider tyres. But that doesn't make it slow, and when you ride it you also find it to be a multi-faceted performance bike and a truly do-it-all machine.
The truth is, we could probably all benefit from a slightly more stable, more comfortable road bike, with the grip and versatility offered by up to 34mm tyres.

Will it rain, or will it stay dry? Is this asphalt road just poorly maintained or will it turn into gravel? According to Cervélo, the Caledonia-5 is the perfect bike for all those rides where you’re just not sure what you might encounter. We compared it with six of the best all-road bikes of 2022 to find out whether that and its ULTEGRA Di2 groupset are enough to make it the perfect all-road bike.
