Cannondale's attention to detail on the Topstone is excellent, and they've made some really interesting design choices to stand out in an increasingly-crowded category. Apparently they've succeeded -- the Topstone 105 has been the third most popular bike on all of 99 Spokes this year.
Well balanced
Descends well
Good power transfer
No mount points on the fork
Cheap bottom bracket

I tested the Topstone with a Lefty Oliver fork while road riding, gravel cycling, and underbiking around Aspen, Colorado.

Lots of tyre clearance
Front suspension is easily locked out
Adaptable for different uses
No mounts on the fork
Mudguards aren’t available

The new Cannondale Topstone Carbon Lefty is basically the same as the standard Topstone Carbon, but now with a suspension fork and a switch to 650b wheels and tires. The changes sound modest on paper but the difference you feel in the saddle is far greater than you might expect, and while that Lefty Oliver […]
Exceptional ride quality front and rear, well-tuned front suspension fork, nimble handling.
Lots of Cannondale quirkiness, heavy.
