Summary
The Cannondale Synapse is celebrated for its versatility, blending endurance comfort with race-inspired performance. Its SAVE technology and carbon lay-up ensure a smooth ride, while the stiff bottom bracket and responsive handling make it efficient and fun to ride. However, some models may feel less zippy on steep climbs due to heavier wheel sets, and the shifting may not match the precision of competitors like Shimano Di2.
SAVE technology for smoother ride
Stiff bottom bracket for efficient power transfer
Versatile handling suitable for mixed terrain
Comfortable carbon frame with vibration damping
Competitive pricing within its category
Heavier wheel sets can dull performance on climbs
Shifting may lack precision compared to Shimano Di2
Limited height adjustability of stem
It blurs the boundary between race and sportive bike incredibly well and seemingly offers a real 'best-of-both-worlds' package.
The Synapse is now a gravel bike in all but name but do not be fooled, despite this versatility, it is yet to forget its roots in road.
A wonderful all-rounder that errs towards all-road duties

It’s just that in Cannondale’s pursuit to make the SE all things to all people, and make the most of its generous tyre clearances, the addition of the WTB/Formula wheelset combined with big tyres dulls the nimble edge of the Synapse when it comes to rapid progress on the road.. .
Blissfully smooth with well-balanced handling
The weighty wheel and tyre combo dulls some of the road excitement

A quick and versatile bike based around a great frameset, though the brakes aren't the best
