Summary
The Cannondale SuperX is a versatile cyclocross bike praised for its lightweight carbon frame, impressive tire clearance, and stable handling on fast courses and loose surfaces. It offers a comfortable ride with ample compliance, though some riders note a firm ride quality that can be fatiguing over long distances. The bike's unique asymmetric rear end and quirky wheel compatibility are noted as drawbacks.
Lightweight carbon frame with impressive tire clearance
Stable handling on fast courses and loose surfaces
Versatile for cyclocross, gravel, and road riding
Firm ride quality can be fatiguing over long distances
Quirky rear wheel compatibility due to asymmetric rear end
Limited mounting points for extra cages, bags, or fenders
It succeeds most excellently on at least two of those, and the third ain’t too far behind.
The SuperX isn’t the first bike to show us that a cyclocross bike can also make a handy gravel racer, but it’s a great example of how it can be done well.
It’s got the chops to knock out 100km on the dirt one day, ride with a road bunch the next, and take to the CX race track on the weekend.

It’s been so good for so long, beginners and seasoned riders alike love it just the way it is.
Great mud clearance
Precise handling
Ai offset rear triangle means old wheels will have to be re-dished to fit on this bike.

Thanks to unique geometry and gobs of tire clearance, it might just make the perfect gravel bike the rest of the year, too. Full review, actual weights & more...

The abundant tire clearance, vertical compliance and clean lines are a blessing for gravel riding and racing. Buy if you’re more frequently lining up for mixed-terrain races than true ‘cross racing
‘Cross-specific cable routing, lively composite layup, tire clearance

Stable handling off road
Tubeless ready
Compliance features built into frame
Front mech cable routing will attract muck
Needs symmetrically dished rear wheel - not all aftermarket options are compatible
