Summary
The Boardman SLR series is praised for its excellent value, offering performance and features typically found in more expensive bikes. Reviews highlight its comfortable ride quality, predictable handling, and versatile use for racing, training, or commuting. The carbon frame and fork, along with quality components like Shimano 105 groupsets, contribute to its positive reception, despite some noting minor compromises in weight and tyre feedback.
Excellent value for money
Comfortable and reassuring ride quality
Versatile for various riding conditions
Carbon frame and fork for lightweight and stiffness
Quality component spec including Shimano 105 groupset
A bit heavier than more expensive models
Tyres may mute feedback
Limited tyre clearance due to calipers
Basic wheels on some models
It’s a bike that punches above its £750 price tag in performance, with a comfortable, reassuring ride quality.
The result is a ride that’s as fast as it’s comfortable, with impressively controlled handling from the front end’s stiff carbon fork and oversized, tapered steerer.
Fast and fun thanks to a great frameset and impressive spec list – especially for the money
