Summary
The BMC URS gravel bike family is praised for its innovative suspension and geometry, offering a blend of speed, comfort, and off-road capability. Reviews highlight its stable ride quality, effective micro-suspension system, and forward-thinking design, though some note limitations in tire clearance and suspension tuning.
Innovative suspension system enhances ride quality and control
Forward-thinking geometry improves stability and handling
Effective at absorbing high-frequency vibrations for a smoother ride
Light and lively feel with a pliant yet efficient ride
Quality fittings and accurate gear shifts
Limited tire clearance compared to some competitors
Suspension tuning and servicing can be complex and costly
Some models may feel heavy compared to more traditional gravel bikes
Top-out clunk from front suspension can be noticeable
ActiveRide feature on some models may affect pedaling efficiency
It’s fast, light, and can fit 33mm file-tread tires, which was about all that I needed for the inaugural BWR NC.
Whether it offers a novel advantage or whether the 20 mm of front suspension is simply a novelty will depend on where and how you plan to ride it.
After my short time riding the URS LT, it was clear that it's a very capable gravel bike which after some suspension fettling and a tyre upgrade, could really show how unrestricted it actually is.

Super-comfortable, high-performing gravel bike
Stunning looks
Super-smooth ride
Great handling
Stiff saddle
Alloy bar is under-spec for the status

20 mm of integrated front suspension meets an already progressive gravel bike.
Balanced ride with front control/comfort now matching the rear end, progressive geometry pushes into MTB territory, easy-to-use lockout, integrated aesthetics, frame comes with included impact protection.
Suspension top-out, setup limitations and limited target rider weight range, servicing required, unknowns over long-term servicing prices and logistics, so-so tyre clearance, suspension changes geometry for the worse when under-biking, equipped wheels, bike weight.

The SRAM XPLR-equipped BMC URS 01 could be the ideal bike for the right type of rider
Forward-thinking geometry
Neat MTT rear suspension unit
Innovative componentry
Nice gearing spread
Overall weight
'ActiveRide' function of the Rockshox Reverb seatpost isn’t easy to use
Some riders might be better served by a mountain bike

If you want a gravel bike that can handle all-day rides on rough terrain (or sneak a lap on the XC trails), the BMC URS LT is worth a look.

BMC offers the fully suspended micro-suspension experience with its new URS LT ‘Gravel Plus’ bike
MTT suspension does an incredible job at absorbing high-frequency vibrations
Huge gear range and smooth wireless shifting from SRAM’s XPLR/X01 mullet groupset
Downtube and fork dropout protection
Minimal fork design looks sleeker than the MTB style gravel suspension
45mm tyre clearance falls a little short of the gravel tyre clearance status quo
Standard 40mm tyre spec feels small for an adventure orientated bike
Top out clunk from the front suspension is noticeable when unweighting the bike
Suspension tuning comes with additional costs
No fork leg luggage bosses

Front suspension reduces vibration energy by a claimed 46 percent, averaged across the spectrum of frequencies encountered in gravel riding.
