BMC calls this new model an adventure bike, a solo riding bike, and an all-road bike. The Swiss brand insists, however, that it's not a gravel bike.

The BMC Roadmachine 01 ONE looks fast just standing there. Can it also shine on the road against 12 international competitors?
High stability
Honest and predictable handling
Great looks
High degree of integration
Limited comfort
Noise

Very capable all-rounder, would do well as a fast gravel bike as much as an endurance racer. Fair weight & acceleration due to stiff frame
Quick
Stiff yet comfortable
Stable
Multi-purpose
Slow at low-speed handling

We’ve tested the newly launched update of BMC’s endurance bike
Good power transfer not bought at the expense of ride comfort
Clearance for extra-wide tyres
Extra endurance features like mounts for a top tube box and an optional rear mudguard
Although shifting performance is good, Shimano 105 is a low spec groupset for the Roadmachine’s price

BMC brought out a new Roadmachine for the 2020 model year, with updates all around. Set as their all-around performance or "endurance" road bike, it is less aggressive than the Teammachine, and targeted at a more general audience - but with all the performance you could ask for. We took delivery of a size 58 test model to get more familiar with its behavior.

It was three years ago that BMC lifted the covers off its interpretation of a modern endurance road bike. That bike, the Roadmachine, spat in the face of endurance road bike trends of the time – it was sleek, aero and with a relatively long and low geometry. It looked more like a racing bike […]
Performance feel with generous doses of stability, stunningly smooth aesthetics, increased tyre clearance, easy servicing, improved fit options.
Stiffer ride than expected, premium pricing (warranted).
