BMC Trailfox AMP SX gets the treatment to make it more gravity focused. A 170mm Fox 36 fork slackens the head angle and gives you 20mm more travel up front.
Solid build kit with no obvious weakness
The 500Wh battery is the limiting factor
Only available in three sizes

In the start of the Winter, BMC North America kindly got us set up with their latest E-Bike innovation, the Trailfox Amp SX. The medium wheeled bike features a huge 170mm of travel up front, and retails for $7,999. Read on, and watch the video below to hear what we thought about the bike. It feels like an exceptionally capable plough-friendly speed-focussed rig that’s just as happy and as much of a thrill on the climbs and flat sections as it is on the downhills. The whole lineup's sizing is a little off, though, and I'd love to see an XL version
Great suspension, grippy tyres and a solid spec
Expensive, it’s quite heavy and needs more sizes

The Trailfox Amp offers superb performance, but does its massive price tag kill its potential?
Great all-round ride and handling
Stiff carbon mainframe and rocker links
Expensive
Shimano's big and heavy integrated battery

Over the last few months we've been comparing the BMC Trailfox AMP e-bike to several other test rigs and found it to be one of our favorites, despite the weight and price tag. Find out why.

Expensive, more expensive... BMC Trailfox AMP. The price of this carbon bike from Switzerland brings tears to our eyes. If you spend just under € 12,000 on an eMTB, you can and must expect perfection. Can the bike meet the expectations it sets with its price?

Swiss based BMC has been studying the the MTB e-bike market carefully to explore where they can compete in the segment. Their entry is a no-holds-barred 150mm travel plus bike called the Trailfox Amp. - Mtbr.com
