The BMC Teammachine SLR is a race-ready bike that combines energetic ride quality with superb handling and compliance, making it great for descending and long rides. It offers remarkable value with its efficient and responsive ride, though it may be slightly heavier than some competitors. The bike's design integrates modern components cleanly, providing a stiff and stable platform for racing and training.
Energetic yet pleasing ride
Superb handling and compliance
Remarkable value for a race bike
Clean integration of modern components
Stiff and stable platform for racing
Slightly heavier than some competitors
Can be a bit harsh in the rear end
Not as quick to accelerate as lighter bikes
The SLR felt so calm and easy-handling otherwise that looking down at the road rushing beneath my frame was one of the best ways to get a clear sense of how fast I was actually going.Bicycling
'the SLR ticked all the boxes for a GC bike: great at descending, good compliance and superb handling.'
The pro-inspired frame genuinely delivers a pro-influenced ride
The Teammachine is made for the way most of us ride: Lots of long, sometimes fast miles for fun and fitness, with the occasional race thrown in.

This BMC bike's stiffness and stability make it a straightaway rocket. Aerodynamic touches and light weight also make it a pure race bike.

When you're invited to a bike launch and the itinerary features the same roads as stage 17 of the 2017 Tour de France, you tend to get a little excited. And then you check the route to see what you're in for. At 183km long and including the Col d’Orion, the Croix de Fer and the Telegraphe and Galibier combination --

The 2018 SLR01 Disc’s chainstays are 8mm longer than the 2017 SLR01 rim-brake bike, but because the bike’s lower chassis is so stiff, I couldn’t tell a difference.. .
