Summary
The Bianchi Oltre series, particularly in its aero category, is praised for its comfortable ride quality, effective Countervail technology reducing road buzz, and balanced handling, making it a good all-rounder for long rides and varied terrain. However, it faces criticism for being slightly heavy, having modest aero performance compared to category leaders, and lacking the sharpness in handling expected from a race machine. The bike's stiffness and power transfer are noted, but it's seen as less nimble on steep climbs and slower from a standstill than some competitors.
Comfortable ride quality with effective Countervail technology
Balanced handling suitable for long rides and varied terrain
Stiff frame for efficient power transfer
Good-natured and predictable temper for confident riding
Aerodynamically-shaped carbon seat post enhances comfort
Slightly heavy, affecting acceleration and climbing efficiency
Aero performance lags behind category leaders
Handling lacks the sharpness expected in race bikes
Modest wheels for the price point
Slower startup acceleration compared to competitors
The Oltre XR3 Disc is one of the most agreeable aero race bikes I’ve ever tested.
It’s fast, descends beautifully and copes with poor roads very well, but I’d like to have seen better, aero wheels.
The superb handling and virtually silent freewheel of the Bianchi allow you to close in on your competitors at full speed without making a noise.
A fast bike that doesn't feel like a fast bike, but its comfortable ride grows on even speed-loving cyclists.

With the Oltre XR4 Disc, Bianchi has sent a true aero-racer, clad in its classic Celeste finish into the race. How much amore is still left in the racer?
Predictable handling
Nspires tons of confidence
Feels composed
Sluggish from a standstill
Restless colour scheme

Fast aero road bike with a high-tech frame and great looks, but only average wheels. Buy if you want a quality aero road bike and are prepared to upgrade the wheels later
Fast ride with aero credentials and effective road-chatter-smoothing Countervail technology
Pretty modest wheels for the price and I’d like plusher bar tape

There are better race bikes for £4K but you’d be hard pushed to find something as enjoyable to ride
Decent level of comfort
Well balanced handling
Good all-rounder
A little heavy at this price
Aero traits are a way behind the best in category
