Aventon Pace 4 Review: Silky Smooth With Top Tier Tech

Dec 2025 · Mike East

Aventon has released the all-new Pace 4, with a new look and adding a whole new lineup of smart tech and security features, now with more range and a lighter weight. Check out my Aventon Pace 4 review!

Observations
  • New for 2025, Aventon has ditched the high-step frame offering sticking solely to a Step-Through frame, and they dropped the ‘500’ from the Pace name of the very popular cruiser.

  • Also dropped was the last-generations 48V e-system in a move to 36V system shared in its Level.3 and Abound siblings, making spare batteries, motors and controllers shareable between the bikes.

  • Advertised with a range of up to 70 miles, I was able to eke out 71 miles in MIN pedal assist, and 44 miles in MAX range testing. This is not only an increase of 10 miles in range, but a pretty substantial range for any e-bike owner regardless of use from several quick trips to even longer adventures, all on one charge.

  • The 500W motor puts out up to 864W’s of peaking power, 60 Nm of torque and with Aventon's improved dual-sided torque sensor, the pedal assist is very quiet, and more importantly, very smooth. See Latest Price

Aventon Pace 500.3 Step-Through (ST) Review | Set The Pace – Electric Bike Report

Jan 2025 · Forrest Woolman

Making a Great Bike Ride Even Better by Adding Torque Sensor and Improving Safety Aventon’s new Pace 500.3 Step-Through (ST) is proof that a great bike can become even better. In our review of the previous generation we found plenty to love: impressive power, great range, and exceptional riding comfort. The Pace series has won

Highs
  • A joyful, casual pedaling experience. The new torque sensor makes it the best feeling Pace 500 yet.

  • Better low end power and overall power range with new 4 level PAS (Eco, Tour, Sport and Turbo modes) replacing old PAS 1-5

  • Greater energy efficiency from the new torque sensor and battery management system, extends range of up to 67 miles.

  • More effective pedaling with the new 48-tooth crankset replacing the old 46-tooth crankset.

  • Better road traction and handling with the new, thinner 27.5” x 2.1” tires.

  • Adding turn signals is great for convenience and safety on the road.

  • The 19″ stand over height makes this easily managed for shorter and taller riders alike (plus the multiple frame sizes).

  • Easier to lift this 52 lb e-bike into a rack than comparable models.

Lows
  • Great handling and overall ride quality make it a capable cruiser or commuter or city bike. However, those wanting fenders and a rack for commuting will have to add them after checkout.
