Summary
The Alchemy Arktos is a versatile enduro bike praised for its innovative Sine suspension system, which offers a unique leverage rate for smooth small bump compliance and progressive mid-travel support. It features a slack headtube and longer wheelbase for stability, with options for adjustable travel and mixed wheel setups. While it excels in downhill performance and climbing confidence, some riders may find it less ideal for tight technical trails or taller riders may struggle with fit.
Innovative Sine suspension system
Slack headtube and longer wheelbase for stability
Adjustable travel and mixed wheel setup options
Full size water bottle inside the frame
Super Boost Plus rear end for stiffness
Taller riders may have fit issues
Not ideal for very tight technical trails
High entry-level price
I hate to say something at 8 grand is affordable, but that’s a real competitive price point when looking at industry standards for the level of build at hand.
The Dual Short Link is the heart of the Sine suspension. As the bike moves through its travel, the leverage rate resembles a Sine wave.
the Arktos 150 has gone up and down a good cross section of Whistler trails and it hasn't let me down

Scientifically, “alchemy” is the seemingly magical process that transforms something ordinary into something extraordinary.

It was time. Time for a new bike.
Full size water bottle inside frame
Convertible between mixed wheel and 29'' via flip chip
Travel conversion kits allow multiple travel lengths
Fox 38 fork is stiff and responsive, no flex
Sine suspension provides small bump compliance and active braking
Industry Nine wheels are stiff and stable
Super Boost Plus rear end adds stiffness
Geometry updates: slacker headtube (63.75°), longer wheelbase, stable on descents and climbs

The Alchemy Arktos 120 stands out among the crowded field of trail bikes thanks to its ability to chameleon between short-travel, trail, and all-mountain with a single frame, and the Sine Suspension System that places a premium on anti-squat while delivering a supple ride feel.
Supple and responsive suspension
Sine Suspension System pedals and climbs well
Can swap fork and shock for longer travel
Looks great
Taller riders may have a hard time finding the right fit
Not ideal for very tight and technical trails
High entry-level price

The Alchemy Arktos 150 is amongst one of the more versatile offerings out there with multiple travel options and a mixed wheel option.
Loves speed, gets there quick
Stable and calm suspension platform
3 travel options in 1 frame
MX option if you’re into that
Competitive spec
Heavier than some
Would prefer Carbon rims on the highest end spec
Loose bolts and BB

It’s been quite some time since I’ve tested a bike with somewhat unconventional suspension kinematics. Enter the Alchemy Arktos 150 – in this case, the Arktos 150 MX. It has a mullet wheel setup and 170mm front travel paired with 150mm of rear travel. Utilizing “Sine” suspension – aptly named after a sine wave, the bike has a rate that runs regressive to progressive, then regressive again. That right there is the unconventional part, but more on the topic of kinematics later. Something that’s interesting about the Arktos lineup is just how neatly spread across the travel/duty spectrum it is.

Built to brawl beyond its travel
Remarkable small-bump compliance
Confidence-inspiring lateral stiffness
Modular frame will keep you from ever getting bored
Some noticeable bob while climbing
Travel variants come with sub-optimal geometry.
